Step 1: Introduce the midecal noun “insomnia” by playing the TED Ed on Youtube to intrige the motivation.

Step 2: Do the silent reading for three minutes to help students focus on the content.

Step 3: Ask students to talk about how they feel and what they think after seeing the picture.

Step 4: Have students in two groups and draw a plot diagram on the blackboard. Tell students to find out the sentences to analyze the plot of a story and organize the major events and situations that occurred. There are four plot parts-the beginning, rising action, falling action and the end. Then have students come up to report on what they wrote down on the board. Tell apart the answers from two groups and conclude the main heading of the story.

Step 5:Take a close look at the reading. After that, play the audio for students to imitate the intonation and follow the reading speed.
